Mrs. Ova Brown-Gillespie graduated from Cheraw High School in 1996 and obtained a B.S. in Biology from Winthrop University. She joined the Cheraw High School faculty in 1999 as a Biology teacher. After obtaining her Masters Degree in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina, Ova became the administrator at Palmetto Learning Center in 2009. She joined the Long Middle School faculty in 2010 as the Assistant Principal and returned home to Cheraw High in 2011. Ova has also served as an adjunct faculty member of Northeastern Technical College where she taught classes in the Math and Science Departments.

Ova is married and has two sons. In her spare time, she enjoys attending Brave and Gamecock sporting events, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Ova is also an avid Pinterest fan.
